Vikings
were known for their prowess and skill with axes. Like the seax
knife, the Viking Field Axe
was used for the daily work around the lodge. If put into battle,
it would become the weapon of choice. It was great for hurling
and less expensive to replace if you couldn't retrieve it. The
axe head is high polished steel with a plain hardwood handle
for better balance when throwing. The handle is designed specially
to prevent the axe head from sliding down the handle or flying
off.
There is no scabbard available
for this sword.
